The all-new Subaru Outback Wilderness is the first Wilderness model to launch in Australia. Re-defining what it means to be an SUV with turbocharged performance, 240mm* of ground clearance and rugged off-road upgrades all matched to a level of refinement and luxury that makes getting there just as exciting as the destination itself.
*Ground clearance at kerb weight.
A new benchmark in SUV capability
The all-new Subaru Outback Wilderness is engineered for tougher terrain and bigger adventures. Think increased ground clearance, revised suspension tuning with e-Dampers and protective underbody features designed to keep you moving when conditions get rough. Dual-function X-Mode works with Symmetrical
All-Wheel Drive to give sure-footed control across gravel, mud and snow so you can discover what lies beyond.
Rugged by design
Wilderness is shaped by purpose. A higher stance, rugged cladding and bold, functional details create a tougher, more capable presence built for those who see adventure in the unknown. Confident in attitude and ready for the untamed, it’s Subaru design taken further.
Details that set Wilderness apart
Subaru Wilderness carries distinctive design touches that speak to its adventurous spirit. From the embossed Subaru Wilderness badging on the headrests to the bold contrast stitching and durable, water-repellent seating materials, every finish has been considered for life on and off the road. These rugged yet refined details remind you that Wilderness is more than a vehicle, it’s a statement of capability and adventure.
A look to match the attitude
The all-new Subaru Outback has been shaped by purpose. Every line, surface and proportion has been reimagined to express capability, confidence and discovery, the essence of what it means to be Subaru.
Its bolder, more distinct silhouette speaks to strength and utility, a form that is as functional as it is powerful. With a higher stance, 18-inch alloy wheels, purposeful cladding and a new LED headlamp design, it projects quiet authority, equally at home in the city or deep in the wild.
At the peak of this evolution sits the all-new Subaru Outback Wilderness, tougher in stance, sharper in attitude and ready for the untamed. Together, the all-new Subaru Outback range embodies purposeful design and genuine capability. Strength meets subtlety. Form follows function. And adventure begins the moment you step inside.
Power and refinement for every drive
For those who crave the thrill of turbocharged adventures and freedom to explore without limits, the all-new Subaru Outback Wilderness delivers. Powered by a 2.4-litre direct injected turbocharged Boxer engine producing 194kW of power, it’s built to take you further.
Or choose the all-new Subaru Outback with a 2.5-litre direct injected Boxer engine, engineered for proven performance and improved efficiency from weekday errands to elevated weekend adventures.
Both engines are paired with an enhanced Lineartronic CVT for smoother acceleration and reduced noise for a more refined drive. A new steering system adds precision and control making every journey on the road and beyond next level.
Capability that walks the talk
The all-new Subaru Outback has been engineered with a clear purpose, to give you the confidence to explore more of Australia with ease. Subaru’s legendary Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and the Subaru Global Platform create a foundation of balance and control that inspires trust on every surface. X-Mode adds assurance when the terrain turns steep or slippery, and 220mm of ground clearance* opens the door to places that lie beyond the everyday.
At the peak of this capability sits the all-new Subaru Outback Wilderness. With 240mm of ground clearance*, improved approach and departure angles and exclusive suspension tuning with an e-Damper system, it remains composed over demanding tracks and ready for the untamed. Purpose-built for Australia’s wild places, the Wilderness is the most capable Outback ever and encourages you to venture further with confidence.
*Ground clearance at kerb weight.
More than skin deep
The moment you step inside, it just makes sense. Everything feels solid, considered and intelligent. The seats hold you in all the right places, keeping you comfortable on long drives and steady through rough tracks. With heating1 and ventilation2 built in, it feels right whatever the weather.
There's space where it matters most. More headroom. More light. A layout that feels instinctive, like the car already knows what you’ll reach for next. Loading up is easy too, with wide openings, clever storage, a multi-use cargo cover, MOLLE anchor points and thoughtful touches that make life easier.
And then there's Wilderness. Reinforced tie-downs. Stronger roof rails. Smarter load capacity. It’s not just an interior; it’s a command centre for whatever adventure comes next.
