And that’s just the beginning.
Subaru Driver Monitoring System
Distractions can happen at any moment, just ask any parent. Forester’s revolutionary Driver Monitoring System1 uses tech to keep you tuned in to the road. Driver Focus uses a camera to monitor the driver for signs of fatigue or distraction and warns them if it detects that the driver is not focused or keeping their eyes on the road ahead, for whatever reason. Forester's Driver Monitoring System1 also features advanced temperature adjustment, allowing you to have complete control of the temperature through simple hand gestures. This amazing feature helps you stay focused on the journey ahead.
Subaru DMS1 recognises that at times the driver may be distracted, which is why a buzzer alert and visual display will warn the driver if their gaze continues to wander outside a set range.
The DMS1 uses near infrared LEDs and a camera to observe the driver’s eyes and recognise when their attention is waning or if they start to fall to sleep. An alert can warn them, and give a gentle reminder to refocus on the road ahead or take a break if necessary.
The intelligent facial recognition system can identify up to five separate drivers and then automatically personalise the cabin to their preferences - adjusting a range of settings including the climate control and Multi-Information Display (MID) screen.
Subaru Vision Assist
Being truly in the moment begins with seeing more, especially on the road, so Subaru's Vision Assist comes standard in all Subaru Forester variants. Radar sensors detect approaching vehicles and the system warns the driver. All Subaru Forester variants also have Blind Spot Monitor, Lane Change Assist and Rear Cross Traffic Alert to help you anticipate other cars when you reverse. All Subaru Forester variants, excluding 2.5i AWD, have Side View Monitor, Adaptive Driving Beam, Front View Monitor and Reverse Automatic Braking.
